Truth and
reconciliation project
VDS is the initiator and leader of the project From
remembering the past to positive future. The main aim of the
project is development of public discussion and coordinated
action toward truth and reconciliation, which promote tolerance
toward differences, positive and proactive approach as well as
inclusion of various regions and social groups, such as war
victims, war veterans, young people, women, different ethnic
groups etc. In this way, VDS promotes Third way toward truth and
reconciliation in Serbia, which takes into consideration all
victims, all perpetrators and all crimes, regardless of their
ethnic origin and other features. In order to work toward
further development of these ideas and cooperation of different
segments of Serbian society, VDS initiated establishment of
Association Joint action toward truth and reconciliation, which
was established on 10 June 2005 in Belgrade, by more then twenty
small and middle NGOs and individuals.
